MUSIC BIOGRAPHY
As a singer and songwriter, Helene has been compared to matrons of 60’s pop Margo Guryan, Karen Carpenter and Joni Mitchell, while her intricate electric guitar playing, insightful lyrics and incredible outfits could sit anywhere between Grace Jones and Todd Rundgren. Her sunshine pop and caramel vocals have been described as ‘baroque and beautiful’ by Darian Sahanaja of the Brian Wilson Band and like ‘bonkers English pop-sike crossed with a honey-soaked Californian sunset’.
A keen collaborator, Helene has recorded with many artists such as Mary Epworth, Seahawks, Dimorphodons, Article 54, The Memory Band, Kiran Leonard and Papernut Cambridge.
Recently, Helene has been creating electronic music under the pseudonym Galaxy Brain, and in 2020 contributed the track ‘Cosmic Voyage’ to Soho Radio’s charity compilation ‘Together’, with all proceeds going towards the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust and Campaign Zero.
